In its 28th year, the Cigar Smoker is a one-of-a-kind fundraising gala that raises funds to support the Fort Worth Public Libraries. Inspired by Andrew Carnegie’s charge in 1899 to solicit donations equivalent to the price of a good cigar to help fund the Fort Worth Library.

Sponsors and guests enjoy a cocktail reception, tastings from local distilleries, Cuban cigar rolling, a three-course dinner, music, premium cigars, and a live and silent auction.

The mission of The Fort Worth Public Library Foundation is to inspire, secure, and grow philanthropic support and advocacy to benefit the Fort Worth Public Library and our diverse community.

Who We Are

The Fort Worth Library Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit that raises money to support programs, services, and innovations at the 20 Fort Worth libraries. Since 1993, the Foundation has granted over $21 million to empower communities and individuals, particularly those in underserved and vulnerable populations.
